Provisional Driving Licence Application
To apply for a Provisional Driving Licence the applicant must be at least 16 years and 9 months old at the time of making the application.
The provisional licence is not valid until the applicant's 17th birthday.
There are exceptions to these rules for registered disabled people who are entitled to motorbility allowance.
A Provisional Driving Licence can be obtained in two different ways. Either by Internet or by Post.
Provisional Driving Licences can be obtained online at www.dvla.gov.uk
You can pay for your provisional Driving Licence using any of the following: Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, Electron, Delta or Solo Debit or credit cards.
Provisional Driving Licence Application by Post:
A driving licence application form can be obtained from any main post office (form D1). Payment method is either by cheque or postal order ( Do not send cash ).
